As a native Nashvillian, John combines his passion for preservation to advocate preserving Nashville’s historic fabric while promoting traditional and thoughtful design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Austin Peay State University and a master’s degree in preservation from the joint program by Clemson University and the College of Charleston. He joined the board in August 2020, bringing his talents and enthusiasm to support the organization’s mission and keep Nashville unique. From 2016 to 2020, John teamed up with a leading developer based in Austin, Texas, where he created a new division focused on historic building. Returning home in 2020, John now offers his expertise independently consulting on historic properties and rehabilitation projects throughout the Southeast, where he works alongside architects, interior designers, and builders.
